Why are retreats needed or even necessary?

Life is noisy and distracting (even in church) and sometimes it is hard to hear yourself think much less hear God speak to you. Your life is going by at 90 miles an hour and society tells you that is the way it is supposed to be, but is it?

Your body wasn’t designed to be connected 24/7! (To God, but not the internet and social media.) In fact, it was designed to need at least 1 day a week off (In fact, it is a command!). When was the last time you took a break?

When you stop and take a break, your body relaxes, your BP slows, and God can get through to you without having to use a bullhorn.
